Coping With Bad Days When Losing Weight

If something gets in your way, don’t let it get you down. Don’t let it stop you.

Instead, learn from the setback and make sure it doesn’t stop you again.

For example a client, who ended up eating a tub of ice cream over a weekend, could have easily interpreted this as reason to give up.
On a “regular” diet, she probably would have given up. It would have been a sign that she didn’t have what it takes to stick to a diet.

But really what this showed was not that she was weak but that ice cream was a weakness. And the fact is, if she didn’t learn to deal with ice cream, then she would never be able to maintain her weight loss. So rather than think of this as a disaster, it was a crucial lesson. It shows an area that she had to master if she was going to be slim for the rest of her life.

So don’t get upset when bad days happen when you’re losing weight. Be thankful that you have learned about an area you need to work on.
