Some partners are good. Some are bad.
Some partners don’t want you to lose weight.
Some really want you to lose weight.
Some partners tell the world, when someone else criticises you about your weight.
Some partners tell you, you need to lose weight to look more like Beyonce (and recommend using lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup).
When deciding to lose weight ultimately three things should be considered:
1. Your health
2. Your own self-image and feelings about yourself
3. Your partner’s opinion
Sometimes these three things are in harmony. Sometimes they are not. Being sensitive to your partner’s opinions is good, but not when it comes at the expense of your own health and wellbeing.
Also, partners who give diet advice when they are not qualified, much like friends who do the same, should be politely ignored!
